Director of Operations Biography
Mary Van Eyk has been with SDFAS since December of 2009. A graduate of Calvin College in Michigan, Mary has a Bachelor of Arts degree in art history and French. She has interned with the Muskegon Museum of Art (Muskegon, MI) and the Frick Collection (NY, NY). Prior to coming to SDFAS, Mary worked in the structural design world, running the business side of a corporation. Her passion and determination have become a driving force behind the scenes of SDFAS.
Financial Manager Biography
Prior to coming on staff at SDFAS as Financial Manager, Rae Barney started her career as a receptionist for Maricopa County School Superintendent's office and quickly found her niche in bookkeeping and finance. After many business and accounting courses and years of working as a bookkeeper for both small business and government, Rae moved into the position of Financial and Business Manager for Kestrel Charter High School. This position demanded a high level of financial diligence and an acute understanding of grants and internal audits. After moving to San Diego County, Rae secured a position as the Financial and Office Manager for a prominent author and entrepreneurial coach where her organizational structures and financial strategizing skills were broadened and strengthened. Additionally, Rae brings her experience as an artist and business owner. Currently, Rae owns and operates the studio and classroom of Fire and Mud Studios in Escondido.
