Welcome back, SDFAS faculty and staff! We collectively said our goodbyes to summer vacation and returned to campus refreshed, renewed, and ready to start the next school year! Freshly brewed coffee and buttery croissants greeted our teachers in the auditorium upon their return. While greetings were exchanged and sentiments were expressed, staff and faculty shared their summer adventures before diving right into training sessions to prepare for their students’ return.
Suzy Shatto led a CPR, Health, and Safety session with Nurse Marianella to certify our team and equip them with the knowledge to respond to emergencies with accuracy and urgency. Through lectures and application, staff were able to receive their certification by the end of the afternoon. Together, we prioritize the safety of our students and ensure we are up to date with the best practices in health and safety.
While meetings, introductions, and training take place in the morning, teachers spend the bulk of their afternoons in the classrooms at work, decorating and sprucing up their space to welcome students and cultivate a fun and exciting learning environment. With different personalities and creative minds at work, students will return to a vibrant campus ready to learn and take on new challenges.Â
By midweek, French Science teacher, Anne-Laure Denis organized a welcome potluck at Mission Bay inviting all staff for an evening of camaraderie and refreshments by the water. In a casual setting, SDFAS teachers and staff were able to relax and get acquainted with new members of the team.Â
With less than a week til the first day of school, San Diego French-American School is excited for new and returning families to have a joyful return and a successful 2024-2025 school year!
